How to Make a Recruitment Video: Five Steps from Planning to Release
A recruitment video conveys a company’s atmosphere and the people who work there more concretely than text or photos. Planning before production largely decides the result.
Five steps
- 1. Decide the goal and the audience: Do you want more applicants, or fewer mismatches after hiring? The content changes depending on whether you target new graduates or mid-career hires.
- 2. Narrow the message: Limit one video to two or three themes, such as work-life balance, the rewards of the job, or the company’s future.
- 3. Choose the format: Employee interviews, a day in the life, or an animated company introduction. Animation with infographics suits explaining numbers and systems.
- 4. Shoot and edit: Meetings and preparation in advance help capture natural expressions. Subtitles keep the message clear even when the sound is off.
- 5. Publish and review: Use the video on your recruitment site, YouTube, social media and information sessions. Check applications and session attendance as well as views, and apply what you learn to the next video.
